Largest field of the season with 62 finishers. 44 people ran a season's best. Joe Geurds wins again! Garrett Ramsey and Patrick Donahue chased him in but he held off the attack. Lauren Farry ran her best time of the year to close out the Women's division. Regine Orazio showed up and took second in her first race of the year. Maryrose Williams, also running a PB for the year, in a model of consistency took the third slot on the podium.
Points races came down to the wire with some notable wins. Running away with their catagories were Chloe Potash, Maryrose Williams, and James Lynch winning by more than 10 points. Some close ones were Jack Haviland making a valiant effort but Tyler Williams holding him off to win by a point. Dave Hall catching Bill Kittler on the final race to tie the standings. And of course the battle royale coming down to the wire with Theresa Apple edging Sheila Farry out for a one point win.
Great season, we raised a ton of money for the cross country teams and sure ate a lot of pizza.
See you all next year for bigger and better Summer Series Races!
8/27 - What a great season! Huge turnout tonight, biggest of the year. Joe Guerds edged out Patrick Donahue for the win for the men. Lauren Farry won the women's race. The field was fast, 43 people ran season's best tonight. The points race made for some excitement. Once again, steady attendance rather than raw speed made the biggest difference. 44 kids ran for free over the summer at the races. Over $1,300 distributed to the two causes. Thanks to all who helped. Stay tuned, a winter series may be in the mix.
